That company sucks, they are over priced and you only get geo-marketing

Looks like a lot of hate are in those comments. Made me think twice if I wanted to approve them. But I guess freedom of speech is allowed and you are not a comment spammer too, this is what I have to say about Einstein Industries:
I guess if they were the best company to work for, then I should still be at Einstein Industries today.
Whatever my reasons are for no longer working at Einstein may be similar to everyone else that no longer works there. Probably it is a salary issue. But I look at it this way:
- I came into Einstein Industries using hard core tables. I came out doing one of the best methods of doing tableless CSS.
- I came into Einstein Industries without knowledge of how SEO is really done. I came out with the basics.
- Many people left Einstein Industries, I often hear stuff that are negative about the president, that he does not pay much for the designers, developer, coders, etc. All I can say is, it’s because he can. If you are trying to get paid more and you are not given a raise, and you decide to leave, or you get fired, I am sure there will also be someone else willing to do the job at the current rate. For me this is not something I see as a negative thing that working for him will get me nowhere. But it is somewhat like a positive thing, as a lesson on how I can run a company. I am not saying that I will run my company modeled after how he runs a company, but it just teaches me a lesson that there are a lot of people out there willing to the job at the working conditions you set. If some employee does not like it, someone else will like it.
- Personally if you watch the video, one thing I admire about Robert Silkey in this interviews of Danny Sullivan, Jake Bailey and Greg Niland is how he just squeezes into the conversation about the industries Einstein is involved in. Thus promoting Einstein Medical, Einstein Dental and Einstein Law in a very indirect way. I observe the video well on how he softly injects the subjects of doing SEO for these industries.
Now, is my comment defending Einstein Industries? Hmmm… not really, I will not get anything from them anyway. Nor do I have any intention in working there again. And for me to decide to not work there anymore should be based on a certain reason that I do not like Einstein Industries. But let’s just say I do not want to work there anymore but I still see the value I got from working there.

Benj,
I admire your words that you said about Einstein Industries. I have also worked at that company for several years and don’t have anything bad to say about them. I learned a lot of things, not only designing, developing or promoting web sites, but also how business work. Even though the company paid me small, I still happy that I have worked there before. We had lots of fun in the past. I came to the company when I was 18 or 19, it was the best company to work for. I think EII will be one of the major players in the LAW and Health industries on the Internet. You know why? Because they went through BIG INTERNET BUBBLE in the year 1999. They only become stronger. Regarding the salaries: If I would be Robert Silkey, I would probably do the same things as he does
Anyways Benj I do support your opinion.

“good” and “bad” is way to subjective.

There is one very important lesson I think should be emphasized pertaining to this subject, whatever you do, learn form it, and walk away a better person. I worked at Einstein for a year and a half, and have absolutely nothing negative to say about the people, the management, or Mr. Silkey himself. I learned a great deal from EI, and acquired many wonderful contacts and friends along the way. I have never had an issue with anyone, and any challenges that I had were always met with sincerity by my upper management.
Now, having said all of that, the only negative thing I will say regarding Einstein is the Salary. It seems there are people there making far, far less than they would most other places in their respective industry. Being such a fun environment may have a lot to do with it, who knows. I enjoyed myself and learned so much with this company, that I’m grateful for the experience.
Kudos Benj…

haha ah einstein yeah. i remember silkey getting pretty plastered at a dental trade show in boston, bringing his own coors lights to sam adams bar then making sure I could sign his name cause he was off to party…. Ha the worst thing from that weekend was the crazy salesperson who went on a same-sex binge and almost didn’t make it back to the plane on time. No joke!
When I came to einstein no one knew anything much about flash/css. I was the first person to really do much with it there before moving out of design and into the programming intranet department. My boss there was great, I really enjoyed working with those guys. Unfortunately do the nature of my position in the company I got to see alot of crap. I doubt its really much different in any other big company.
While I was really bummed they laid off my boss and I (after the big freaking server move on weekend without any extra pay, @$$holes!) it turned out that was the best thing that could have happened to me career wise. When my department was combined with IT, there were alot of really hard lessons I had to learn, and really benefited me (thx nick/dennisX2!) to this day.
Einstein was always the biggest player in their own minds. Its funny talking with people who work/worked there that still think they are the biggest player in their market.
Silkey at best is a salesman. If you look at it that way it makes more sense, and should really prepare your mind for anything that comes out of his mouth. He is trying hard to keep his company going, which if anyone here was aware of their financials you’d know what I mean.
Overall the biggest joke really had to be the marketing department, it really was a terrible waste of resources and time. That was when I learned all the nice Russian cuss phrases. Suka!

Einstein is a joke, plain and simple. Anyone who will speak the truth will say the same thing. Robert Silkey is a used car salesman at best and Ted Ricasa is a disrespectful fool who could never attain the position he has at Einstein in another company. He’s just the best available that would kiss Silkey’s butt and help with all the shenanigans like skipping payroll, funding lavish cocktail parties at the same time as other aren’t getting paid and generally just ruining any potential the company had in the past. Complete losers, stay away.
