Occured last September 12, 2006, the SEO Rockstars blog was hacked! Stuff like this happen when people want their permalinks changeable through the Wordpress admin and keeps their .htaccess file permissions writable by Wordpress. Now if there is a way Wordpress can overwrite .htaccess, then how can you control Wordpress to post something on .htaccess. I myself do not know all the details, but I do know you have entry points in the Wordpress comments, the trackback, the login boxes, I really do not know. But a good precaution how to avoid Wordpress hacking through this method of hacking where the .htaccess file is hacked, make sure the file permissions of the files are not left as 777, or meaning, read, write, execute by owner, user and group.
