How important are keyword rich domains in SEO?

In the recent Isulong SEOph competition, we have seen several keyword rich domains who were finalist in the Isulong SEOph competition. But then again, there were several keyword rich domains that also never got to page 1. And aside from that, there were 2 domains that were not keyword rich that were in the top 10. Which were Bicolbusinessdirectory.com, go-oggle.com.ph and kontrapelo.com. So just how important is a keyword rich domain?
